The 16U Girls team traveled to Barrie on February 20, 2010 to compete in the Bugarski Cup.
The pool play saw the girl’s first match up against the Orillia Suns. The girls started slow and quickly found themselves down 0-6. The girls regrouped and worked hard to earn a 25-23 win in the first. They then seemed to lose focus and lost the next two games 14-25 and 13-25
The next pool play game was against the 16U Girls Fusion Red Team. The girls were excited and nervous about playing the Red Fusion team. The first game was well played with some exciting volleyball – the Purple team fell short 20-25, they also lost the next set 14-25. On to the third set and the girls were determined to get one win. They played very hard and pulled off a 25-23 win in the 3rd set.
The girls finished 3rd in the pool play and were now set to play in the playoff round. The first playoff game was against the Belleville Ravens. The girls played well and won both sets 25-22 and 25-15.
The next playoff game was against the Wildcat VBC. The Fusion fell short in both sets 17-25 and 14-25.
The final playoff game was against the Barrie Elites. The girls were now playing for 5th or 7th place. The team played hard and won both sets 25-22, and ending up finishing 5th overall in the tournament.
