Jonathan Alcombrack, head coach for our 16U Girls Purple team and assistant coach for the 17U Boys, was recently honoured with the Celebration 2010 award for sports volunteerism in the community. Jonathan was nominated for his work as a volleyball coach as well as work with the Kingfish swim team providing massage therapy to athletes. The nomination cited his commitment to his teams and his willingness to take on a challenge. He was also commended for his support of the Weekend to End Breast Cancer where he has provided massage services to walkers in several cities (http://www.handshelpingfeethelpingbreasts.webs.com/)
Celebration 2010 is a program developed by MPP Jim Watson to recognize the 'unsung heroes' of community sport and recreation. MPPs throughout the region presented awards to community volunteers who have given their time, talent and energy to support sport and recreation.
Jonathan joins Coach Cathy O'Doherty who was also honoured with the award earlier this year.
Congratulations Jonathan and thank you for your continued support for volleyball in the city.
